ABOUT

Delta, BC-based Jac Matthew grew up immersed in music and performance. Classically trained in violin from the age of three, she later became involved in dance and musical theatre before teaching herself guitar and beginning to write her own songs.

In 2017, Jac attended a songwriting workshop at Vancouver’s Nimbus School of Recording Arts, an early step in developing her voice as a writer. After welcoming her second daughter, she returned to songwriting with renewed focus, refining the style that would come to define her sound.

As part of that process, she joined the Nashville Songwriters Association International and shortly after travelled to Nashville, where she performed at the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival in 2024. That experience marked the point where she began pursuing music professionally.

With The Renaissance production team (Garrett Ward and Dan Botch), Jac released her debut single Wild Things in 2025, earning airplay on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country. She followed with Harder to Hold and Make It Make Sense, both of which continued to build on that momentum. Harder to Hold led to Jac being named River Country 94.9’s Rising Stars “Supernova” Artist of the Month in November 2025, while Make It Make Sense earned her JR Country’s Artist of the Month in May 2026. Across these releases, her music has been featured on Apple Music editorial playlists including Canada’s Country, Country Caffeine, Canada’s Country: Best of 2025, New in Country, and Today’s Country, helping drive over 600,000 streams across platforms.

Building on that strong early momentum, Jac continues to write, release, and step further into her own as an artist.
